Our Message for Beginners
The gym can be an intimidating place.
It may not a place that you may feel altogether comfortable in. To be completely honest, after more than a decade of working and training in various gyms I still get those odd days where I consider if I’m being silently judged for one reason or another.
If you’ve just started a new journey in exercise, or if you are returning after a break, you may be concerned that you don’t fit in. You do. The gym is there for you to use just as much as everyone else. And in most cases the people you see who come across as cocky and arrogant in the gym, have the same doubts and insecurities you do.
There’s certainly a ‘gym culture’ that often can feel a bit clique or judgmental and I can only say that as a trainer this confuses us greatly. We want the gym to be an open and inviting place.
One of the first things I do with a new client is try to make them as comfortable as possible in the environment they will be training in. This has a direct effect on how often they will train on their own and thus the results they achieve long term.
I would highly recommend hiring the services of a good coach, who will ensure your technique and form is good, and this removes the guesswork on your part. Again, this also helps to make you comfortable in the environment and will help you to exercise safely and effectively.
Having been involved in physical exercise for most of our lives, one of our biggest goals is to help people, just like you, to exercise, see the benefits and enjoy the process.
You can do this.
We are fully backing you.
We want you to succeed.
